To achieve this 4 research objectives were formulated. The survey design was adopted and the simple random sampling techniques were employed in this study. The population size comprise of all the staff of Chevron and Indigenes of Delta State. In determining the sample size, the researcher conveniently selected 220 respondents while 210 respondents were validated. Self-constructed and validated questionnaire was used for data collection. The collected and validated questionnaires were analyzed using frequency tables and percentage. The result of the findings reveals that; corporate social responsibility in the Niger Delta region from the oil and gas firms have been making positive impact. More so, the study revealed that the oil and gas firms are not contributing a proportionate size of benefits to the local communities which are considerably impacted by the activities of the oil and gas firms. The study recommends that since the operations of Oil and Gas Companies in Delta State has led to the distortion of the economic lives of the people through pollution (water, noise, air and land), the social responsibility performance of Chevron should as a matter deliberate corporate policy employ some indigenes of the area as their permanent staff.
